An acrylic will likely be used to repair it. Metal reinforcements or fiberglass can also be used. The work requires precision and often has to be done in stages. However, a repair is not foolproof and can break again.
However, not all breakages can be repaired and sometimes the best solution will be to replace the prosthesis.
