Full denture
A full denture replaces all the teeth on one or both jaws. It is made of artificial teeth, often acrylic resin or, occasionally, porcelain. Pink acrylic is used to mimic gums.
This type of denture does not require the use of implants. Suction keeps the upper denture in place, while the lower denture, which rests on the gums, stays in place thanks to masticatory forces.
Since the jawbone changes shape over time, a full denture will eventually lose its stability and need to be adjusted on a regular basis.
